Good to see some support for Zimbabwe on this forum, this will be a closely contested series one would think.

HERE WE GO, ZIMBABWE, HERE WE GO... Great result and great to see the boys giving the Bangladeshis a taste of their medicine. Tatenda and Barney Rogers led the way, and E. Chigumbura chipped in with another quickfire knock. Chrissy Mpofu stepped another way to becoming a decent addition to the attack with a couple of wickets, and Doug Hondo, although expensive, took 2-fer as did part timer Barney Rogers. Panyangara was economical (less than 3 an over) for his one wicket. Utseya took 1 for 37, completing his 10 overs yet again.

| This is good for Zim cricket. There would have been no contest had Zimbabwe been playing their *real* team, but it's still good to see them winning. Taibu is indeed doing a great job. For my money, he will get in most teams as a weeket keeper. Certainly in the Indian cricket team

Kamran Akmal is a better bat then Taibu IMHO, also a better keeper, can't say about other countries, I'm not in a position to coment for them, but for Pakistan, I don't think we would prefer him over Akmal. And regarding this series, I've not writen off B'desh already . They could still come back, but credit to Zimbabwe, I haven't been watching these matches, but scorecards I've seen suggest they've played well. Last edited by Zainub : 24-01-2005 at 09:37 PM.

The World XI wicketkeeper is really up for grabs although Sangakarra is the leader... McCullum (NZ): Been playing tests for less than a year. Akmal (PAK): Ditto. Khaled Mashud (BAN): Hardly First-Class Patel (IND): Disappeared off the face of the earth and is a joke at this stage in tests. Karthik (IND): 3 tests. No way. Boucher (RSA): Just working his way back. No DeVilliers (RSA): Two tests as keeper. G. Jones (ENG): No. Still too raw internationally. Read (ENG): Great gloveman and his disappeared. Moin (PAK): Gone for all money. Sangakkara (SRL): Leader. Great bat and very good glovemen. If he was to injure himself it'd be an interesting race. He is first by a long long way. World XI Keeper. Taibu (ZIM): A clear second in the race IMO. Has had the gloves in Zimbabwe for over four years now and is the most established glovemen. Captain of his young side. Batting has come on and he is one to watch. Browne (WI): No. Jacobs (WI): Hard tryer and could possibly have been third but is injured and considering retirement. Baugh (WI): Like Patel.
