SA deserved to win but I thought we had a decent chance of winning today before the bloody rain came & ruined it for us.

Well, we have to congratulate South Africa on a series well won. England were really never in it. Well done, South Africa: you deserved the series win.

Pitch was alright, not exactly a belter perhaps but no great scares in it for the batsmen either, just that there was cloud cover around so it helped England. And 211 was a good score in those conditions, under lights Durban pitch does all sorts of things, remember the last world cup, its almost like playing on two different surfaces, I'm not a fan of such one-day day and night matches, puts way too much emphasis on the toss, as it was proved in the last world cup.

Anway, had the rain not come, it could have been quite an interesting game, I do think England had a good chance even losing those 2 early wickets, because SA had lost 2 early wickets too. But everyone is right, SA do dserve to win the series, they've out played England. Congrats to them & Better luck next time to England.

So, does anyone think GO Jones has shown himself to be a great opener this series?

He's lost us matches, that I am convinced of. His slow scoring and reckless getting out has been the undoing of us.

I agree it has not helped, but the selectors tried him there, fair enough, but it has failed.

He is a number 7, he has shone there at times, opening, IMHO he would have been a pinch hitter at best.
