Good effort from Herschelle Gibbs again - a one man show today, it seems.

Rain has stopped play, OK for SA, no good for England.

And with Pollock's departure comes the forecast rain. Which is a shame. SA 180-7.

Rain has stopped, per Cricinfo, and the umpires are on the field. Can anyone see what's happening? Given that we are now into the scheduled interval, hopefully tea is being taken and someone is computing the number of overs by which the game is likely to be shortened? Any news on the box at all?

OK, guys, here's the latest from The Guardian:

Covers are off. Play will not resume before 1700GMT. No idea how many overs the game is reduced to - but I imagine it must now be a reduced game. I think D/L could come into play to set a revised target for England to aim at if (a) the SA innings is now over - as I assume it is; and (b) there is insufficient time for England to face 42.4 overs - as I assume there is. All will be revealed in the fullness of time, but, alas, not to me, as I shall be leaving you now. Will check in later in the evening for the result (or the news that there is no result if England get in less than 20 overs). But for now, as Jimmy Young always used to say, BFN - bye for now!

Bad shot from Tres and Jones. Tres was trying to run the ball down to third man with 2 slips in place!

Rain stopped play. England need another 206 runs with 8 wickets in hand from 44.2 overs. Not enough for D/L and likelihood of more play not very good. Match reduced to 48 overs. Information as of 09:25 S A time.

Well I am pleased. It makes a change for SA to win. The question is where from here?
