My alarm didn't go off (or I slept through it..) so at 8:05 I rushed to put my radio on, only to hear Vaughan's middle & leg stump flying out of the ground first ball...not the ideal thing to wake me up!! At least we can compare how Strauss & Jones open now..

I thought it was starting 8.30 nice surprise two wickets down.
Now 3 wickets down. The batsmen who destroyed us in the Tests can't get runs for love or money.
Want to swap sides Pietersen I'd welcome you back.

Are England booked on an early flight this evening or something? Now 54-5, and they're playing like blokes in a hurry - to be out of the country!

They keep on going about G. Jones being a failure opening the batting.
But what about Vaughan he is a absolute failure as a oneday player and that is a FACT.
I know he is a blue eyed boy but it is now time for management to push him in the direction of calling it to a end. Make
Pietersen capitan of the one day side. That would be good management.

Interestingly, though, if I am reading the stats correctly, Michael Vaughan has the second highest batting average among the England players - 39.75, which is also well above his career ODI average of 28.53. Fact is that, with the exception of Pietersen, none of the England batsmen has done much to speak of in the series taken as a whole.

True... All the England batsmen in this ODI series have been absolutely terrible with exception of Pieterson and i feel Solanki hasn't been to bad...
Vaughan has only stooid out because of this but he is too slow in ODI anyway so it is time for a change...

I know what you mean tigerlillythe7th, i woke up at 8.02 to hear Tresco on his way back to the pavilion Not my day.

Exactly what I was going to say - in a disappointing series for England's batsmen, with the exception of Pieterso, Vaughan has done o.k. Yes, it could be argued that he doesn't get them at a quick enough rate and so on, but none the less, he hasn't done so badly overall this tour. Plus, in spite of not great results, he has done a decent job as captin also.

But Vaughan has played over 60 one day games. Only blue eyed boys get that sort of chance ask Bell one failure and your out. Its no good talking about Vaughan in this series its a career. Tresco getting some stick for his bad form but over career he is much better than Vaughan.

What we've lacked today is somebody to provide the anchor role so that we can thrash it out at the end - which is what Vaughan has been doing. There's been 2 innings when Vaughan's got out early - we got 183 the first time & today's hardly going well....say what you like about the scoring rate but there are more deserving people to lay the blame on.

Well, John, being one of the best Captin's in international cricket currently means that your value to the side is greater than just your batting average!!
