4th ODI:West Indies vs South Africa

Smith has been banned for 4 odis which means he'll miss the last two matches, then we have Kallis who could miss the last two games as well. So De Villiers, Ontong and Hall come into contention. De Villiers will surely get to play the last two games, not sure about who amongst Ontong and Hall would make it. Maybe Ontong coz SAF already have 4 specialist quicks in the playing-11, Ontong could add variety to the bowling attack. But at the same time I hope a player as talented as Hall doesn't leave the Carribean without playing a game...

I'm glad the ICC has taken a strong stance on offenders of the slow over rate rule, first Ganguly's 6 match ban, and now Smith's got one that will keep him out of 4...this is sending a strong message to all the international captains out there...you break a rule and you pay for it big time. This is how is should be. Well done Jeff Crowe!

Amogst other player who could miss teh 4th match is Gibbs - I think I read somewhere he had some kind of injuiry...but I'm not sure, and will gladly be stand corrected.

This ads an extra risk factor in fantasy cricket when choosing a captain to receive double points. In the current game, Graeme Smith was selected by SirAdrian and Occasional Fan to receive double points so they will be disadvantaged by this. These are the changes for the 4th ODI:

West Indies: OUT: Daren Powell - IN: Fidel Edwards

South Africa: OUT: Graeme Smith, Herschelle Gibbs - IN: AB de Villiers, Andrew Hall

The Windies flop again, except for Chanderpaul and Sarwan...dont know whats Xavier Marshall doing in the team, his time hasnot come...whatever happened to Ricardo Powell....will be interesting to see how De Villiers does and whether Kemp gets a promotion in batting order....232 is not a very bad target, not a winning one but I'd like to see Windies bowlers atleast try...

Yeah disappointing once again, I was thinking to myself the exact same thing... where is Powell?

Thrusting Xavier into the firing line was a bad move, I think the Windies should take a punt and open with perhaps Lara or Sarwan. What have they got to lose now.

The Windies blew up another opportunity while Prince and Kemp made the most of it. Frankly speaking I didnt think Prince and Kemp could pull it off but it seems they are better than what I had in mind about them. This tour is really turning out to be very good for Prince. Was disappointed with de Villiers...dunno why he played that shot. Hope he does better today.

I've given up all hope anyway, Mike! Disastrous effort this time around!
