| It is true that in Flintoff, England has the one thing Australia wants but does not have - a bowling/batting allrounder. Having said that, if you look at the Aussie team's batsmen and bowlers -even if Flintoff was an Aussie, team balance would mean he would be 12th man anyway as there would'nt be a spot for him.

| Well, my alarm went off at 4am. "Cricket, Sleep, Cricket, Sleep", were the words going through my mind. Eventually, Cricket won. So, I turn on the TV, see Australia at 4-25, then, it is back to sleep. Good effort by England, and I quite liked the Telegraph headline: "Warning" You may never see this again all summer. AUSTRALIA ALL OUT FOR 79!!". I was actually suspecting The Sun to take it out of context, as they do with so many fictitious and worthless headlines (eg Quentin Hann, who cares about snooker anyway?) and write something along the lines of "AUSSIES GONE...England demoralises the Aussies placing their campaign in disarray". However, nothing along those lines, yet, all I can say is savour it while it lasts. There may be more or there may be none; only time will tell. |

| Rachael, Don't think it needs to be a 5 man attack, but with Flintoff as an all-rounder you can have that luxury.. I don't think many people here would say it is a "Great" attack, but it is possibly the best Seam attack outside of Australia... I think most teams in the world would take a No 6 who is also a frontline bowler. As stated even Australia often have to ghet one of the batters to fill in, so why would that not take a Flintoff type player? Last edited by flanflinger : 15-06-2005 at 02:00 PM. |

| My God! Australia get beaten in one match and one thread of our forum has 8 full pages to it! That only tells me that we have a lot of people in here who want the Aussies to get beaten, just for a change! Go England, Go! Go! Go!
