I always said this 20/20 lark was quality cricket - second only to tests in fact !

It will give the bowlers some confidence for the ashes - well it would if Gough and lewis were playing !

So i'm not too good at this prediction lark

I was disappointed with the way they messed about with the short stuff at the end though. I wanted them to finish it quickly.

In a twenty over match in the evening how can you have proffessional sportsman wilting in the field ???? I used to take me longer fielding on a hot afternoon after a night on the razzle !

No one sensible makes them out to be invincible, especially at ODIs and similar circus acts; in fact, England, New Zealand and Pakistan have all had the better of the Aussies in the pyjama game of late. In the Tests, whilst Australia are certainly not invincible (hard to say that in a "two-horse race" anyway) they are much better than England; the ODI or Twenty-20 results are all very well, but even if England engineer an upset and thrash the Aussies in all the ODIs, that still does not make them favourites for the Ashes, especially as many of England's key ODI performers do not even play Tests.

I'm a bit fed up....I was aiming to exit work early to watch the game, but was forced to stay on till 7.15 this eveing...thus the match was all over before I got home and I had to be content with the highlights. Damn the Aussies, couldn't they have put up a better fight than that !!

Anyway, what a good effort by England - good tactics from Vaughan (even if he did make 0 runs!!), good hitting by Tresco, Pieterson and Collingwood. Great bowling from Gough, Lewis and Colly.

Lets hope it continues through the ODI's!!
