1st Natwest Series ODI: England vs Bangladesh (The Oval)

A decent start for England. Debutant Jon Lewis extracting some movement from the pitch to account for Javed Omar and Mohammed Ashraful in 2 balls. Bangladesh are currently 34-2, and have suffered from one 13 minute rain break.

England vs Bangladesh

Strauss will open with Trescothick when they go out to bat. The experiment with Jones finally seems to be over. Unfortunately they've decided to waste KP's talents down at number 6 in the batting order and have moved Collingwood upto 4.

Harmison has been bowling all different lengths again and going for runs. 1-20 from 4 overs.

Bangladesh are currently 72-4.

I would only have Vaughan batting at three if a wicket was lost early. Anything after twenty overs and I'd have KP or Freddie at the crease, let the havoc begin! Not that Fletcher is flexible like that, though.

Well it's been a stop start type of match so far.

Rain has prevented play for a long time .

Bangladesh seem not to bad at this type of game.
110/6 off 30 overs so perhaps looking at 200 max?

Harmison isn't bowling that well, but I guess it is encouraging that he has taken 3-22 off 6. If he can clean up and take 5 or 6, it should hopefully give him some confidence.

Well they are back on now, and Bangladesh have come out , with a plan to attack. They've attacked Collingwood and now they are attacking Flintoff, which is good to see; 128 for 6, 50 partnership up. Game on. Ahmed looks/sounds like he's on fire, ably supported by rafique

Brutal

Despite a bit of fight with the bat, Tresco with a 100 off 76 and strauss (thank you thank you thank you dunc) got 82 finsihed the total in 24.5 overs. Brutal.

That's about the same rate Somerset were going at yesterday against that other touring side. They must have been very poor in the field.

Nice to see the Strauss/Trescothick partnership reunited, and to be fair, it works pretty well. I think it's better for both Jones and Strauss this way. Brutal partnership, showing no mercy at all. Those little nudges Tresco played over the wicket-keepers head!!!! Like a cat toying with a mouse!!!

Harmison got some wickets, and is looking more confident. Lewis continues to show promise.

Did the Sky viewers choose MOM? If they did, looks like they finally got it right!! I was half expecting Pieterson to win

Poor old Bangladesh....
