Pietersen murders Aussie attack

Once again,it's that man, Kevin Pietersen to England's rescue. It seems as if he can't do anything wrong. Today he just murdered the Australian bowling attack, hitting Mcgrath,Gillespie,Kasprowicz,Hogg and Watson, all over the park. It was all clean hitting and the sixes were massive blows. England look very strong at the moment. Pietersen,91 off 65 balls snatched the game which at one point seemed firmly under the Australian's grasp. He is a clear match-winner as he has shown in his short international career and definitely he should be included in the Ashes team, even if that means that the in-form Bell has to sit out! Who should be left out of the team for Pietersen's inclusion?

Great game. I was watching and as the run rate creeped up to nearly eight an over I doubted the bestriped one was the real deal but I am now a convert. He played proper cricket for 45 minutes and then (without the aid of a telephone kiosk) turned into SuperKev. I watched as the differential between runs needed & balls left went from +22 to -11 in the time it took to down a pint of cider.

Now as to his merits in the test team . . .

I would play an extra batsman @ Lord's regardless of Ashley's or Simon Jones' fitness. This whole series will be determined by the first hour at HQ i'll wager. We are hopeless in North London - I'll take a flash localised flood around St John's Wood and a draw please. KP should play the first test for sure and thereafter it should be two from Bell/Thorpe/KP.

For a long time now England have been waiting for the man to turn their fortunes around and lead them to the top. Strauss and Flintoff were billed to fit this role, but for me, its Pieterson. He without doubt should make the test team, as the Australians are certainely rattled by what this guy can do, and it should be taken full advantage of.

have to agree...but the signs of a aging team are upon us. England are playing out of their skins at the moment and may go to Lord's with the confidence to win a day or two and give Australia a scare.

Any thoughts of letting Shaun Tait loose in a early test to ruffle a few feathers. Kasper is out of soughts and may be the time to freshen up the stocks?
