| Trems nearly got a hattrick on debut! The third delivery bounced into the floor off of the bat and then onto the top of the bails, didn't dislodge them though |

| All I want to say is, Bangaldesh didn't crumble to end up being 100odd all out. They at least had a go at what was an impossible target. This could be very clear signs that the tide has turned.

| annoyingly i didn't get to see or hear any of this game as i had to take the lovely wife out in exchange for the fact i'm going away for the weekend, so i can only comment on the result and scorecard. i agree with vvv that i'm impressed that bangladesh got the score they did given the circumstances, far better sides have crumbled to much smaller scores when faced with a large total, so well played to them, it definatly seems they're starting to slowly turn the corner in one day cricket at least, which can only benefit their test team with experience. england on the other hand, wow, we just keep getting better and better, yes it seems that freddie and harmison had off days with the ball but i guess there was no point straining themselves when others were doing the job, the good thing about the england side at the moment is that, like australia, when one or two players fail, the others pick up the pieces, rather than just give up like previous england teams. I still think day night cricket is a waste of time in england, and not overly surprised to see the team batting first winning and their swing bowler taking all the wickets, standard result for day nighters here, lets just hope we win the toss on thursday or we could be gifting australia their first win, on the other hand though if we beat them batting second then we can truely have bragging rights over them |

Has anyone noticed how the best bowling figures by England bowlers are by those you'd least expect??? Ealham has two returns in the top ten, there's Vic Marks, Craig White, Graeme Hick ..... and now Paul Collingwood topping the list! |

For me the most exciting thing about yesterday’s annihilation was the bowling of Chris Tremlett. If he has the metronomic accuracy of his father Tim, and the steepling bounce of Harmison (which he would, if his action wasn't quite so low) ... no, no, the steepling bounce doesn't matter... the metronomic accuracy and the express pace, which sticks him roughly between Flintoff and Harmison on the speed gun, then England have a very useful new addition to their attack. Tremlett should concentrate, Anderson, Harmison, and Hoggard's minds wonderfully well. I'd be very interested to see him perform against the Australians too. This season should be the making of him.

| Aggers made a good point that when a team is chasing a huge score someone like Collingwod can be very effective as the Batsmen has to make the shots, they have to create the pace. He also pointed out that Harmison's natural length is perfect for the small Bangaldeshi batsmen to pull the ball, which is exactly what Ashraful did. So I wouldn't say it will effect his form against the Australian's (all much bigger than these guys) Now the big question - has Collingwood made a case for Test inclusion. Most of you would be laughing at this suggestion, that because he is in good form and has just scored a very quick hundred in an ODI that he should benow be in the frame, and yet we have applied this logic to KP? |
