England v Australia -Natwest Final- Lords

Well after a flying start by Hayden and Gilchrist we have pegged it back brilliantly.Symonds is looking all at sea against the England pace men.93-5,25 overs, 4 maidens in a row.

Symonds looking all at sea? The ball has not beaten his bat yet and he is looking solid as. At 5-97, his is playing very sensibly. The wicket is seaming all over the place, irregular bounce, and a slow outfield. Symonds and Hussey are playing very well and if they are still their at the 45 over mark, Australia will post 225+. And Australia, as always, will recover to post a competitive target. 200 will be very hard to chase on this wicket and in these conditions. I would be very nervous indeed if i was an English batsman. That opening stand by Gilchrist and Hatden will prove crucial in the end i think.

Are you watching the same game? He should have been bowled when he played and missed at Freddie but somehow the bail stayed on.

One ball in 54 deliveries. Vaughan has stuffed up here big time. He should have brought back Flintoff/Harmison when Aus were 5/93, but instead has let Aus back into the game. Get ready for a match-winning partnership between Symonds/Hussey.

Yes, it may well prove to be a match-winning partnership. A fifty run partnership when Australia were on the ropes was crucial in what will prove to be a low scoring match. As i said, the English batsmen will be very nervous indeed. Good knock Symonds.

Why?
Strauss is on his home ground and has already scored lots of runs at Lords in International cricket.
Tresco is in good nick.
Vaughan has got a hundred in each of his last 3 innings at Lords
Pietersen is averaging over 100 in 1 day cricket.
Flintoff needs runs
Colly is having a great season.
