The Final-India vs Sri Lanka-Aug 9,Colombo

The finalists have been decided. India will now take on Sri Lanka on August 9 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Post all your views about this match in this thread. So far, the Sri Lankans have beaten India in the 2 ODIs played. But the final will be held in a different ground and a different playing surface, a surface that should suit the Indian style of playing.

Would tend to agree with you Seen, having not followed the series either. Sri Lanka always do well at home . Is Murali playing?

Murali is playing and most probably Jayasuriya too. I am putting my money on the Lankans. Indians still look very out of touch. Dunno whats happened to them after the Pakistan tour...

52 runs needed from 30 balls with 2 wickets remaining. Can India make it or not? I think we still can!!!

Post Sri Lanka win the Indian Oil Cup by 18 runs

Many congratulations to SL fans for a superb victory! Cricinfo report here.

A very determined performance by Sri Lanka. They didn't get off to a great start but some fighting innings from Jayasuriya, Jayawardene and Arnold helped SL to a very competitive total.

Sehwag was back in the runs as he flayed 48 runs from merely 22 deliveries. Dravid yet again played a very composed knock along with Yuvraj Singh. But then occured a collapse which saw India lose 6 wickets for merely 58 runs.

Chappell still has to fine tune many areas. The use of part timers like Yuvraj Singh and Sehwag was thought to be one of the main problems but today, five specialist bowlers were played - all to no avail as India conceded 281 runs. The fielding hasn't been top class either.

Dhoni has done well enough with the bat but his glovework has left a lot to be desired. He was caught napping today as Jayasuriya sent one his way early on.

But the Indian batsmen seem to be finding their form. Dravid has done marvellously well throughout the tournament while Sehwag, Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh and Kaif have all played some good knocks. Chappell has maintained that the goods are there and that soon they'll be delivered at a regular basis. The bowlers too have shown quite some discipline and Chappell will surely take heart from this.
