3rd Videocon ODI: Zimbabwe vs. India at Harare, 29 August

Match Page

Tatenda Taibu has just won the toss and sent the Indians in. I'm sure he'd be looking for Heath Streak, who has had quite a bit of success against Ganguly in the past, to dismiss that very man cheaply when he attempts to get firing on all cylinders.

Taibu would like to have 2 wickets down for 60-70 within the first fifteen overs and for Zimbabwe to have a sniff India must be reduced to nothing over 250. The good news for Zimbabwe is that there is know Virender Sehwag; makes the match a lot more winnable. Then again, there is one guy at No.3 called Rahul Dravid.

India - Sourav Ganguly, Venugopal Rao, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Jai P Yadav and Suresh Raina (Supersub).

Preferably, I'd go in with a Zimbabwe team of: Wishart, Taylor, Carlisle, Masakadza, Coventry, Streak, Blignaut, Taibu, Utseya, Rainsford, Ireland. Anthony Ireland showed good promise the other day according to a few reports and was by far the pick of Zimbabwe's bowlers.

We look forward with excitement.

Come on Zimbabwe.

Heath Streak or no Heath Streak I always expect Ganguly to get out for a low score...he's seems to have been out of form since forever...and doesn't seem like getting back into any either.

India will be low on confidence after their NZ performance, so Zimbabwe should fancy their chances of putting up a decent show.

Ganguly departs on 20. Current score after 20.0 overs, 72/2.

Sluggish start but far more appropriate than coming out with all guns blazing.

121-3 after 35. Good, good, good start. One more wicket here and we could be in with a big show. Edit: As I post Ewing takes a good return catch off Kaif leaving it 121-4 after 35!

India 174/4 (44.0 ov)

The target should be very chaseable for the Zimbabweans if they play it smart.

47 overs gone. Give Ireland his tenth, then bowl Blignaut for one more, see if he can get one of them to hole out, then put Streak on for the fiftieth. Putting Blignaut on in the final over is suicide.

Lol! Hope it picks back up.

Pathetic over from Ireland; went for two sixes in a row. Now Blignaut, then Streak to finish it off hopefully for under 230.
