Chris Gayle gets 50

You really have to wonder at the management of this Super Series.

Gayle is third in the ICC's own ODI player ratings (behind Ponting and Gilchrist) yet was ignored for the first game. Is Super-Sub here (and probaby should have come on early to bowl) www.cricketratings.com

His ODI batting average is 38 - Sehwag is 31!! the facts are there!!

Add this to the original ommision of Inazamum, the selction of 4 South Africans (depite them being on the same number of points as New Zealand in the ICC's table, who only get one player), with Boucher as keeper...

To compound it all you make Smith (who has an average captaincy record and never captained against Aus) the Skipper....you have to wonder about the sanity of the managment and selection committees!!

They probably selected a squad and then a captain after that. Having never captained a side against Australia isn't a weakness, it's probably a positive. Of the others selected the majority have very poor captaincy records.

I cannot believe the downer almost everyone seems to have against Graeme Smith!

Not sure what Kallis is trying to do at the moment. Perhaps he's decided to try and get he Aussies back in this game!

Lara's gone. That's twice in two games he's managed to drive one in the air to the offside fielder. Not exactly world class batting from the ICC team.

220/6 after 36 overs, Dravid and Flintoff were getting it together but Fred has just got himself caught for 40. KP in now, hope he keeps his average up - 77 would do nicely here!

254/8, that's sad because I think it affected his batting. Pollock and Vettori need to score at over 10 per over. I really doubt that's going to happen unless Twenty20 mode takes over in both teams' minds.

Mmm..Another Aussie win, disappointing as I'm going Sunday and will almost certainly see a dullish encounter...

My only thought from this match: Keep Sanga on for the Test, tell Bouch to go home.

I hope KP is rested from the 3rd game.My worries were confirmed with him limping off and then needing a runner while batting.Pointless series that is not needed due to the ridiculous workload of players these days.
