Playing Gillespie after lunch when Warne should have been on, foul-mouthed rants, bowling first at Edgbaston. Ponting isn't the best captain, I'd go for Vaughan closely followed by Fleming.

If this discussion is only regards the current lot, then, I would say Vaughan. Dravid has as of now, just made a beginning. I wouldnt read too much into it. Ponting comes a close second.

But, if I can talk about the last 5-6 years or so, then its definitely Ganguly for me.Just for the way he transformed a much maligned team(remember that was after the match fixing saga) into a tremendous fighting unit. I still rate the 2001 Aus tour of India one of the best series ever. He definitely deserves credit for that

As a player ponting is a better performer...

vaughan in my opinion is the best captain about(test) because of how many series he has won compared to how many England have lost under him.....

well ODI at the moment...smith, but not by that much..(but we all saw him in the twenty20 cup with somerset)
