Smile Cricketer that makes u laugh/smile (past or present)

Arjuna Ranatunga - He was great. He seemed to almost always have a runner when he batted...hehehe
And when the umpires or opposition gave his team grief he would round up his boys and walk off the field, he would never accept crap from anyone. Arjuna was and enjoyment to watch and a real character on/off the field.

Also, Merv Hugh...another funny character!!!

When it comes to making me smile there's never been a cricketer to match Courtney Walsh. Great fun when he's bowling... but I'm recalling him as the most gloriously daft tail-end batsman ever :-)

I will have to say Inzimam-ul-Haq. His appearance makes him look like a teddy bear and his running between the wikcets it just priceless, a true legend and great entertainer.

Can't think of any myself (it has been a long day) but I agree with all those mentioned except Darren Gough. To me Gough summed up all that was wrong with English cricket while he played. He had the talent to become a genuine test bowling allrounder but as he admits in his autobiography he didn't work on his batting and instead just wanted to smash the ball around. Wasted talent that should have been told by the management to work on his game or forget it.

But make people laugh he did. I'm certainly one of those in the smiling-upon-Gough camp.

Phil Tufnell, batting from behind the umpire if possible and prowling the outfield like a cat (Garfield in his case)

Still wasted what talent he had. He could have been classed as a great. I cannot laugh at someone who did that.

He, like big dev, were the characters they were becvause of the faults they had. How well would a young tuffers or Dev do now ? Pretty well I'd guess, but it wouldnt have been half as amusing to watch them bat.

Yes, there are so many of them:

1. Inzi: He looks so serious and at the same time so funny. When he was younger, he had a bad temper and provided some real entertainment to crickets lovers. And of course his running between the wickets.

2. Harbhajan Singh: the turbanator is really capable of some entertainment when he is batting.

3. David Boon: cant forget his unbelievable dives on the field with a huge bulky body

4. Sourav Ganguly: No one goes to bat with as much protection as Ganguly and still, Ganguly looks scared. I remember Sidhu once hitting a straight drive past sanguly that passed withing inches from Gangualy's protected head, dada fell down and couldnt get up for a few seconds just out of shock till Sidhu went and helped him
