Well im not saying Dhoni is as good as Adam Gilchrist but im saying is that he should be in the ODI team for his batting alone, i think he can do better than most batsmne out there.

Why is Warne not being considered? Fair enough, he is retired from this form of the game but I loathe leaving him out. He would be one of the first chosen, anyway, here is my team:

1. Ghilchrist +
2. Sangkkara
3. Ponting (c)
4. Martyn
5. Symonds
6. Hussey
7. Flintoff
8. Vaas
9. Lee
10. McGrath
11. Muralitharan

12. MacGill- "the third best spinner in the world" gets the gig despite the reluctance of Australian selectors in picking him for ODI duty (and test selection, for that matter).

1- Gilchrist (WK)
2- Tendulkar
3- G Smith (C)
4- Lara
5- Pieterson
6- Flintoff
7- Pollock/Kallis (hard to pick between these two)
8- Lee/Vettori (depends on the pitch)
9- Murali
10- McGrath (1st Bowler)
11- Aktar (2nd Bowler) *Afridi (depends really on who bats first)

Super Sub: Afridi/Aktar (same as above, though if i have to choose it would be afridi as the Super Sub)

The easy bit of a world ODI XI is the bowling: the only tough bit is choosing which one to omit from Flintoff, Pollock, Lee, Vaas, Ntini and Murali. Add Gilchrist or Sangakkara as a wicket-keeper (really doesn't matter) and then start scratching your head: the range of batting options is huge... though Ponting and Inzi ought to be in there... and Lara's lack of recent form doesn't alter the fact that he's one of the most proven ODI batsmen in the history of cricket.

1. Smith / Tendulkar
2. Trescothick / Gayle
3. Ponting
4. Lara / Mohammad Yousuf
5. Inzi
6. Sangakkara / Gilchrist
7. Flintoff
8. Pollock
9. Lee
10. Vaas / Ntini
11. Murali

My instinct would be to drop Gayle from the starting XI and make him 12th man: he's a better batsman than Afridi AND a better ODI bowler...
