No, I disagree... now England only have to hide Pietersen in the field.

He runs fast, picks up the ball, tumbles over and then get's it back in with his strong baseball throw... it's a good place to hide people who can't catch and don't hit the stumps that often from close in.

Of course Vaughan can barely run or catch... so it's really pretty darned hard to hide him.

However, all the other guys are better specialists in close, Flintoff, Trescothick, Giles, Bell, close catchers.
Collingwood, Solanki, Strauss covers and mid-wicket.

Well you wouldn't want Simon Jones belting round and sliding into the boards... not after Australia 2002/3.

So, in answer to your question, yes I was hiding our best boundary fielder.

Oh Hurrah! I've passed Rachael Heyhoe-Flint... jolly hockey sticks and all!

Of course, we haven't discussed the Blackwell equation when it comes to fielding!

Damn, we might have to hide him too.

Perhaps we can get KB Ramaswami to officiate, and Blackwell should just about be able to hide behind him.

Having thought, I'd play this line-up:

Tresco (c), Strauss, Bell, Pietersen, Collingwood, Flintoff, Solanki, Jones (wk), Plunkett, Harmison, Anderson. Supersub - Blackwell or Prior.

No, I'd start with a spinner in the first XI and a second spinner / batsman as the supersub.

In that case, Blackwell in the side and Solanki/Loudon as sub? Or we could start with Blackwell and Solanki, and leave Anderson or Loudon as sub? I really don't want to even mention Udal...oops!
