It's not really bad news, Kaneria wasn't going to figure much after this game in any case, and now we'll get to see just how pointless it has been to have Arshad Khan as a super sub.

I wonder if anyone can help me here. What is the point in Geraint Jones in this match? In fact, if Matt Prior is going to be one of the openers then he may as well keep thus freeing up a position for a proper batsman.

I think I have to eat my words. Solanki and Plunkett have put on 100 for the ninth wicket off 107 balls and have at least given England a target to defend. It won't be all that easy, but at least there's a game on.

Great to see Plunkett make his maiden ODI fifty, now out to Shaoib Akhtar for 56.

Harmison adds nothing, England all out for 230, which surely is a losing score. I'll be back in a few hours to check.

With you on that one actually. Not any particular Jones bashing, just that it's pointless playing two keeper - especially as Jones isn't exactly in rockin one-day form with the bat, and Prior (so far) is. Could've played Solanki in the middle order and then Bell or Udal as supersub!

Exactly my point.

Also, I wonder why Fletcher left it so late to bring Solanki into the fold today?

Well done BBC on getting Flintoff up in the middle of the night. What happens,he gets a duck.No surprise.

As for this game well i totally agree with NE.It is pointless playing 2 keepers in a match. If we had replaced Jones instead of Anderson then we would have an extra bowler who could help to win the game.Well done to Plunkett who showed great maturity,he has been the brightest bit of this tour,it looks like he has a decent future in the game.

I think England are about 50 runs short of being competitive but you never know.

Geriant Jones hasn't ade any real istake this tour with the gloves infact I'd say hes done brilliantly... Whos too say that Prior would even do very well?? I don't believe in dropping a player who hasn't done anything wrong, and Jones hasn't... His batting does need improving though

But if he's being picked on glovework he's still, despite a good tour, a million miles behind read. Why dont people discuss the issue of read and jones - its something thats gone un talked about for far too long
