Oh... and the run rate for the last 5 overs is < 5.8 / over!

The required run rate for the final 8 overs is now over 7.5 an over: not impossible, but perhaps less likely (in the current circumstances) than India winning with 5 overs to spare.
That all looks about right, Rachael - but the arithmetic was a bit off the mark in your first post on the subject. 260 runs over 40 overs would be 6.5, not 9 as you said. An academic point, admittedly, given that the game is now over.

No Occasional Fan. Rachael is correct. At that point in the game, if Aus were to hit the winning runs by the 40th over, they would have had to score at 9 runs per over. At that stage, the run rate was 4.6 or something and in order to reach the runrate of 6.5 (260 in 40 overs) they would need to score at 9 runs per over.

Rachael does not make silly mistakes.

Where has Django disappeared to. Perhaps to his crystal ball.

Congrats to India. Thoroughly deserved I might add. Tendulkar showed his class after being criticised for not performing in big games.

I think his exit was spoke more about his character than if he'd smacked 50. In his last game with Aus facing a tough run chase he walks. That says a lot about the man.

As for the game Australia were right in it when Hayden and Symonds were at the crease but in the end were lucky to get as close to winning as they did.

I only saw the second innings last night but on the news this morning there was a clip of Michael Clark tacling Sachin Tendulkar. Can anyone explain what that was about? was he going for the ball or did he just run into him by accident?

The guys in the commentary box were quite happy to say that Clarke was annoyed that Tendulkar didn't 'get out the way' so that Clarke could field the ball off his own bowling, so he deliberately tackled Tendulkar to stop him getting a run. To be honest, it looked pretty much like that!

Regardless of this, Tendulkar was shown laughing afterwards finding the funny side of the whole thing. Clarke was just scowling as if he has no enjoyment for the game other than winning at all costs.
