Question IPL Strengths

So with the IPL beginning who are the strength teams...
can we rate them on strengths of steady batting, big hitters, spin, pace attack and fielding...

As far as steady batting goes Baglahore looks very strong give them a 9 (out of 10)...followed kolkata...mumbai...chennai

Big Hitters...Hyderabad looks strong...followed by Kolkata and Chennai

Pace...the big boys seem to be Banglahore...Mohali...Mumbai

Spin well Rajasthan and Chenna -coutesy of Warne and Murali...
And also Banglahore...Dehli and Mumbai

What are your views...my personal rating may be very flawed...

Well we all know that any of the known international stars can win a match if they have a good 20 ball session

Some of the names that can turn it on who havent had Intl debut are

Anirudh srikanth, subramaniam badrianth for chennai and pragyan Ojha for HYD

Best new ball attack belongs to delhi with mcgrath and mohd asif sharing it

Best opening pair sachin and sanath for mumbai

spin ..spin...spin... chennai / jaipur / bhajj of late has been doing a good job ... he has been highly over paid for IPL though

Best batting ...HYD....coz...they have good indian batsmen available like laxman , venugopal rao , rohit sharma , gilly who can feature in every match and as well they have option to take 3 intl players from gibbs , symonds , afridi , styris

Most balanced teams seem chennai and kolkata

I don't know how this IPL format works, but the wicket in my hometown Bangalore is terrible. Both batting and bowling are difficult there and Day-Night matches come closest to cricketing version of Hara-Kiri.

On weekeneds 2 matches / day , first one at 5 PM IST and the next one guess at 8 PM IST

I have to agree with that Nostromo,i haven't seen a quality wicket in bangalore for almost 8 years(last good one being the South Africa Test in 2000)the wicket in chinnaswami stadium seems to becoming slower and slower(not to mention lower bounce) as the years pass by

We can never rely on Mumbai's wicket(Gone are the days of bouncier pitches, these days only spin works in wankhade stadium)

Only decent wicket in the country right now for Limited overs game i guess could be Mohali(even this is not a guarantee-just a guess)

Chennai used to have a good pitch similar to the one in mumbai but not anymore with relaid pitch acting totally opposite of what's expected from it(No good bounce and batsmen friendliness)

Is this whole thing not just a complete cricketing joke? I see Justin Langer is now bored with scoring centuries for WA so after honouring his contract with Somerset he only wants to play in India for money.

Good luck to players wanting to secure their financial futures (I'd do the same) but it really has very little to do with the quality of cricket we should all like to see.

But are they offering up five day test matches? At least World Series cricket offered up the Supertests with big prize money at a time when cricketers were really underpaid.

A few 20/20s with huge fees already guaranteed makes me think that it is like watching Jimmy White play Alex Higgins in an exhibition down the York Barbican Centre.
