well for an ODI team...as far as big hitters go I have to say the man is Lance Klusener...
171 ODI ..a strike rate of about 90....and average of 41....
oh...and he can a bowl a bit too...
in my mind he is the best big hitter ever.

I'm sorry, I picked Hussey instead of Bevan my mistake. Please disregard my vote.

I have to say if Klusener gets picked this team is going to look ridiculous. Only three specialised batsmen in the top 6. How many bowlers are going to be in this team???

I agree. Klusener made my personal XI, but in that team you didn't have Kallis coming in at 4. My vote goes to either Hussey (far classier than Bevan) or Rhodes- both dangerous lower-middle-order batsmen and excellent fielders.

i have to say i disagree with you on jonty rhodes, though he was a great fielder, i really dont think he is any where near a good enough batsman to be in a world XI.

Voted for Cairns, although looking on the team as a whole, would have him at 7 and a better batter (maybe Bevan) at 6.

I think he's very much under-rated as a batsman, I suppose 'cause he spent all those years in Klusener's shadow. But he averaged 35 with the bat and had a SR of 80- pretty much everything you need in someone who'd ideally be batting mainly in the last 10 or 15 overs. But as I said, I'd be equally happy with Hussey.
