Talking Good news at last

i hope people at helm (bcci) start punish these kind of players severely and bravely (which i doubt they will)
i am still disgusted with the incident
my worry is not about IPL but about Indian National Side
already India as a country facing lots of difficulty from its own states with increased inter state intolerance(eg: Bangalore,Mumbai and many more) towards fellow indians
these kind of incidents only going to help factionalism in the indian national side

On harbhajan i repeat my words he is nothing but a media created hype
he can never win a test series for india let alone in abroad even in india like he did 7 years back(even if he does it will be one off affair)

(Update: At last some good news for my ears, Harbhajan has been temporarily suspended(ban?) for 10 matches(ipl?) by bcci and investigation on the issue to be conducted on 28th april in newdelhi with both players.)

Even the turban comes off when an opportunity to get paid for a Whiskey advertisement comes up.

The bare headed face of "Royal Stag Whiskey"

And when the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia asked for an apology.

Harby's reply was
Quote:
"If they were unhappy, they should have called me and talked to me like a son"
Obviously starting to get bigger than his religion, in his own personal opinion.

The more time passes the more the statement from Hayden about him seem correct.

Harbhajan does seem a nasty spoilt petulant little brat who needs to be brought under control fast.Yes he has ability to be a matchwinner but why act like a complete prat all the time?

BCCI sources have said in an interview to an Indian news channel that Harbhajan could even face a life ban as there is conclusive video evidence. BCCI is not taking this lightly at all. If not a life ban, Bhajji is going to get a prolonged ban in all forms of the game. This will serve as a lesson to other Indian cricketers. Sreesanth and the likes need to learn from this.

Very true.

Not just Indian players though, all players worldwide need to stop being so petulant and start behaving properly on the field.I am still ashamed of the jellybean incident which may be nothing compared to slapping someone but it is the start down a path i don't want to see my team go.

There have been too many incidents in the last year for my liking, the good thing about the New Zealand/England series last month was that it was played in such a good spirit.More of that please.

Latest Update on Bhaji-Sreesanth Row

Harbhajan has been banned for 11 matches(IPL only)

They should have banned him for at least year or so including his international matches(but knowing our money minded gutless BCCI it is never going to happen)

PCB is far better than us in this regard though(i am talking about bold decision to ban Shoaib Akthar for 5 Years)

This is the verdict of Farooq Engineer, the IPL match referee for that match. However, BCCI has ordered a separate inquiry into it and Bhajji can still be banned from ODIs and tests after that.

Sreesanth's career was also at stake but very interestingly Bhajji bailed him by stating that the attack was entirely unprovoked. Sree had abused some Mumbai players in that game and had Bhajji said that it was the reason why he was angry, Sree would have been punished as well.

Lalchand Rajput, who was standing behind Bhajji when it happened and did not act at that time has been fined 50% of his match fees.

BTW this slap has cost Harbhajan Singh $750,000. Quite a costly slap.

I doubt the so called Independent inquiry by Nanavati(an advocate from gujarat cricket association) going to submit anything new to the bcci

I guess bhaji might escape with this peanut punishment(10 ipl matches ban)

as far as sreesanth, he already got an warning on this issue

i don't know any other video evidence is available to show him provoking bhaji for getting a nice SLAP

i just hate both these players on field behavior as much as i hate hearing sunil gavaskar's dreaded biased commentary , but i am very happy to see both these guys caught off guard on their own territory

Nervous times for Harbhajan, as well as the 11 match IPL ban and 100% of the remaining match payments being taken off him.

The BCCI will be looking at the case and apparently have unaired video footage of the actual incident.

Harbhajan accepts 11-match ban

Controversial Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has apologised to countryman Shanth Sreesanth for slapping him and admitted he deserved to be banned from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said last night that Harbhajan would receive an 11-match ban and be fined all of his match fees from the tournament.
The incident happened on Friday, minutes after the Mumbai team captained by Harbhajan lost to Mohali.
Television cameras showed opposition paceman Sreesanth sobbing.
Mr Modi said TV footage not aired live showed Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth when both teams queued up to shake hands.
Both players were present at the news conference where the announcement was made and they hugged each other and posed for the cameras.
"I have made a big mistake and have got the punishment," Harbhajan said.
"The (Indian) board has always supported me and I hope they will continue to do it.
"I want to return from the ban in a happy frame of mind."
Harbhajan can appeal against the decision, though that appears unlikely following his comments.
Mumbai team manager Lalchand Rajput was also found guilty of conduct contravening the spirit of the game and fined 50 per cent of his match fee.
Mr Rajput, the former India assistant coach, was found guilty for not trying to restrain Harbhajan despite being right behind him when the incident happened, Mr Modi said.
Match referee and former India player Farokh Engineer added that Sreesanth, 25, has also been warned to be on good behaviour.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said it will not intervene in the decision on Harbhajan, who could be banned for life or suspended from Test and one-day internationals if the Board of Control for Cricket in India charges him under the ICC's Code of Conduct.
An ICC spokesman says the incident happened in a domestic competition and is a matter for Indian authorities.
