Nothing to note of so far really, the 2 teams from each group progressed easily enough vs HK + UAE was it?

Ashraful hit a ton for Banga, also been some for Raina, Sehwag, Jaya, Sangka and Malik, may have missed some.

The India Pak match the obvious highlight so far, with Dhoni saying it was the flattest batting track he's ever seen...with Umar Gul crocked after 1.2 overs (and missing the remainder of the tourny), 2 seamers and the all rounders werent gonna stop the Indian charge

i dont understand why they have teams like HK and UAE competing at all at this level, they just made up the list. they probably showed good performances for like an hour every match. i know minnows have upset major teams in WC 07, but HK and UAE aren't nearly as good as Bangladesh or Ireland.
I know I cant quite seem to fathom the ups and downs in Pak cricket.I dont even know why they played so cautiously in the first 10 odd overs on a flat batting track offering nothing to the bowlers. I'm not surprised Dhoni said what he did, it did seem that way!
well the Super 4's stage should be fairly interesting. I'm going for a India vs Srilanka final and should be a very tight game with both of them being evenly matched teams.

Yea, India should be in the final (and win it), although id like a India-Pak rematch, i think Sri Lanka could do it.

Yes, although they make up the numbers unlike the WC it is only 2 matches, and it is the "Asia Cup". Also, for an hour or so, UAE really took the game to Sri Lanka, one of their openers made a quick fire 70 odd off around a run a ball. Good valuable experience gained.

Although i did happen to read about the HK team, and that about 8 of their starting XI were born in Pakistan.

bangladesh are going well at 273-5 on what seems to be a slow pitch. the indian fielding and bowling seems very lacklustre to say the least. the batsmen will have to come out and play well, with sehwag missing in action I reckon 290+ will be tougher than it sounds.

Yea, noticed they've seem to have rested Sehwag, Chawla + Praveen...now that Kapali blasted a quick ton, and Shahadat struck early, wouldnt mind Bangla causing an upset here.

Yea, looked out of his depth when he burst on the intl scene a couple of years ago, already has 40+ ODIs now at just 21, 2 100s and over 300 runs in 3 knocks though will give him the world of confidence, and hopefully a good extended run in this new youthful India outfit.

Asia Cup 2008

Time to admire Sanath Jayasuriya. The guys is 39 now and is playing like a 25 years old. On his 39th b'day he cracked a 55 ball century. The running between the wickets is great. Fielding is sharp. Looks good for WC 2011.

Srilanka have ensured a final berth with some very good cricket. India has been unbeaten as well. Indian batsmen seem to be in an all time great form. These two are the strongest candidates to play in the final.

Pakistan, as usual, is discovering new ways of getting into controversies. After losing to India (India chased down 300) and Srilanka (Captain Malik played too slow to win the match), malik went into hiding refusing to attend the post match presentation and the press conference. Coach Lawson was so rude with the media (he set down rules for the media to talk to him, asked one senior local journalist to improve his English and threatened to walk out) the journalists walked out on him. He later issued a statement of aplogy.

Bangladesh did great to score 284 against India in one match but could not contain the in form Indian batsmen. They got massacared by Sanath in the last match though.

The next match is India vs Srilanka on 2nd July.
