ok this argument lacks logic, look at the player and team rankings..Pakistan hardly feature in both, they struggle to beat good teams both home and away and there only decent bowler (Akhtar) can only bowl 3 overs before he has to retire with exhaustion.

uham my friend, you overrate Pakistan as a unit. Australia are still the best ODI unit, we murdered the World XI and beat England in our last ODI series. Last time Australia played Pakistan they played against each other five times. Australia won four of those matches.

Pakistan's only dangerous paceman (Actually Razzaq isn't bad) requires a month off after two months of cricket, and should invest in an oxygen tent and a physio to bring on the field with him.

Inzamam can't cut it against Australia, and your batting lineup isn't stable enough. Pakistan didn't make the Super Six last time despite Wasim Akram being in stirling form. The bowling attack (and arguably the batting lineup) is weaker than last time around. Pakistan won't make the semis.

Good to see your passionate uham; but I think a more logical train of thought would be better used next time. Pakistan have potential, but can't play consistently well as a team. I liked the fighting back against India, but with the state the Windies in, a victory over them is comical.

Cool I have to admit

Dear kwicket

I have to agree that Akhter is not the player he was 3,4 years ago. Well one thing im saying is Akhter is done he will get one more chance and that will be against England. Shoiab has some behavior problems i have to admit that. But its back to my point Pakistan have good depth as England. Young players Sami well maybe not Sami but Rana-Naved and Rao Iftikhar. I not having a go at you kwicket but thats my opinion. I support NZ cricket and best of luck to them. I think Pakistan are #1. And I also think you will think the same in 2 3 years.

P.S LETS HOPE ITS PAKISTAN VS. NZ LIKE MY GOOD FRIEND SAID CRABS

Exclamation Forget The Past Think About The Present And Future

Dear paoli69

I agree on some of your words but not all. See you said about the 2003 right world cup. You know how long that was teams have developed players have retired. That was a long time ago. Look at Pakistan's team now big players INZI YOUSUF MALIK RAZZAQ and the big player AFRIDI. These are much more diffrent names then 2003 team. Waqar Younis, Wasim AKram, Saeed Anwar, Rashid Latif. Big diffrence new players better and younger player actully. See what I see is that you are rating by ranks. And not rateing by what you see. I mean Pakistan havent played since 3,4 months and they won there last 2 series. Against India and West Indies. I know what your saying These are bad teams but wins. I ahve a question for you would you rank England #2????? The reson why I think you rank Auusie's #1 is because they have played the most matchs then any on since 2,3 months. And your looking at rateings. They had great history but now its over. Hayden, Pointing. These guys were great players 2 3 years ago but not now..

P.S Watch Pakistan Vs. England I think it will determin #1 and #2 teams in Cricket

How can Pakistan Vs England possibly determine the #1 and #2 spot? England havnt won an ODI series for years, in fact i cant remember the last ODI series they did win! I could understand if you were ranking England #2 in tests, because they are the #2 team, Australia still miles ahead as number one. No people arent going on rankings, people are going on what they see, and what people see is Australia thrashing everyone home and away. When is the last time Australia lost an ODI series? And when is the last time Pakistan lost an ODI series? How many times recently has Pakistan beaten Australia? And how many times recently has England beaten Australia? England ARE NOT #2, and Pakistan ARE NOT #1, no matter what the personal. YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST TO BE THE BEST! When Pakistan beat Australia, I will aknowledge them being #1, until then they ARE NOT #1.

Well, well, I'm new at the crease..But from what i observe, hardly anyone seems to be intimidated by India's recent one day form.

I do not straightaway say that India's goin to win the WC.But, you can never say. India comes on top all of a sudden and also falls back at the same rate. take for instance the NZ series just befor the last WC. they hardly made over 100. and the form was at its lowest when we played the first match against holland. But then, India went on to reach the finals.

so all discussions now will hardly hold relevant 1.5 years from now..

I think that Australia will win the world cup, India will be hit or miss depending on form, Pakistan could win purely if Shahid Afridi hung around for 111 balls(using simple maths, 37 balls x 3.) Although the way he bats usually, it could be any score.

I'm not sure if Afridi alone will be the telling factor, he only really fires up once every series. If Pakistan are to have a chance, they need to knit together as a strong unit, which by the way they seem to be doing under Woolmer.

, how does the cup system work, do the top 2 go through to the next round or do the winners of each group go through to the semi-finals??
