I think that Australia will win simply because they have players like Gilchrist and Symonds who can score quickly and players like Ponting, Hayden and Hussey who can also all score runs. And then with their bowling they have Glenn McGrath who can bowl 10 overs and not give away many runs, Brett Lee who can run in and bowl at 150 KPH and take wickets and Brad Hogg bowling spin who also has a good one day record.

Having said that Pakistan is a great team, Australia is no1 and I dont think one should argue against it. But then we all know that Australia hasnt been the same team it was a year ago. They are on a decline. Therefore, there are chances that they wont be able to defend their championship. Who will bring them down in that case??? I would love to say "ndia"....but as a matter of fact, there is enough competition all around.

India right now looks a very good team and since we have some very good youngsters, we can improve fast in the next 15 months.

Pakistan has been doing well...but they need to work on batting, which is, I am sure, Woolmer is doing right now.

England showed some weaknesses against Pakistan and surely need to develop their batting against spinners and their spin bowling. But they are definite contenders.

I dont think other teams are that strong right now.

i was expacting england to win after a smashing victory against aussiez, as we all know aussiez are the best team in world but also i have a feeling that they might not be in world cup 07 final after losing the ashes, i say if they do good come back from themand if england do want to be in final of world cup i suggest they should think about working on their batting against spinners and their spin bowling. i would be surpriced if england win!

Well....I wont be surprised if England eventually wins the world cup. There have the talent to do it. They did not play well in Pakistan but the World Cup is not being played on sub continent pitches. But yes, they gotta improve their game.

All due respect to England, but some here seem to be vastly overrating there ODI side. There test side is superb, no doubt about that, but the last time they won a ODI series was 2004 against Zimbabwe. If they are to make the finals (which they have the talent to do) they need to pick up quite a few series wins to get there confidence up and all gears firing.

if england get lots of supporter like they did in summer of 05 for ashes then they would look stronger then ever in world cup 07.

The big guns will look to take advantage over the unpopular teams like Ireland,Bermuda, etc.Virender Sehwag might even try for a double hundred against Bermuda.

Where is the final going to be held?

Thumbs up India/Pakistan are the Best bet

In the current form and by looking into the pool of talented back up players i feel both india and pakistan are the best bet even edging out the ageing aussies
i wont be surprise if both india pakistan qualifies for the finals in wc 2007
Having said that i am not ruling out aussies totally but my guts instinct says that one of the two asian giants gonna take the cup home
england, newzaland, and srilanka are almost in similar strengths so it will be really very difficult for them to beat any of the three teams i mentioned earlier(especially i dont think england will qualify for semifinals even with its injured players back in action, this is purely because of their attitude towards the one day version of the cricket)
i predict south africa to be the black horses for the wc 2007

I agree India and Pakistan are my favourites. Who do you think will be the surprise of the tournament? I think it is going to be Bangladesh.

rifat,i guess south africa could be a surprise package, since their 5-1 drubbing in new zealand 2 years ago, they were improved vastly in one day form of the game
and recently they even beat the mighty aussies 3-2
so there are more chances for south africa to be a black horse in the coming world cup 2007
