I'd love to see the Kiwis win at least one of the games. I would like it to be a nice tight series, to make it a lot more interesting

Hmmm, looks like Bond has injured himself and is in doubt for todays game. but on the plus side, the sun is shining here in Auckland today so we should be in for a full days play.

Too bad they couldn't make a better match of it

Australia scored 252/8 from their 50 overs, with Ponting top scoring with 63. New Zealand could only manage 105!!! Chris Cairns topscored with 37*

I was at the match today, and I have to say, it was an absolute disgrace. And i'm not necessarily talking about the Black Caps's dismal performance either.

There were three pitch invasions which brought the match to a halt, at least ten arrests and Ponting even got the umpires to go down to a particularly rowdy stand and calm things down. The place was literally crawling with cops.

It was a farce, both on the pitch and off. Good to laugh at, but a farce nonetheless.

The NZ batsmen look like the proverbial frightened rabbits facing Lee.......... the shirley temple twins hadn`t the technique to cope, Astle was...well Astle (either a big `un or nowt)...and the rest , well didn`t turn up to bat...credit to cairns for a nice little comeback, but he batted at a time of no pressure.

Vettori continues to bamboozle the aussies............strange how they seem to be the only ones that don`t take to him (er...bangladesh & zimbabwe aside).

I thought the aussie bowling attack would be their weakness..bar Lee...... but still, the one day game can change so easy.

The crowd was pretty stupid...bottles, apples & apparently snooker balls were thrown........... I didn`t see Ronnie O`sullivan in the masses, but that was a bit of a giveaway.

Why are Aus. batting Hussy so far down the order, Hussey is one of their best batsmen and he batted far to late in the innings, if he batted at 4 he could build an innings and get some really great scores! Australia showed yet again why they are the best ODI side in the world with yet another convincing win. Lee bowled well but I think that the rest of the attack is betterd by many side, the batting good as usual. I also think that Cairns should be further up the order as well, as he has just come back to the side he wants to prove himself again and is in good form.

Thumbs down Chappell Hadlee Trophy

Well that first one dayer was truly awful....our top order failed to fire and looked all at sea against quality bowling from Brett Lee and co....the top order didn't have any answers against Australia. questions now might be asked about the strategy of New Zealand and this gun-ho "lets smash 'em" approach is NOT working. We have to think twice about Bracewell. NZ needs to get its batting sorted out. Cairns and Oram have gone backwards, which was not mentioned in media reports today. Their bowling was average. Vettori and Mills were probably the pick of our players and there wasn't much to choose from!!!!

Im sorry, all these complex strategies and silly theories haven't worked in South Africa and NZ and I think its time for Snedden to really think about things and not to show any favoritism regarding coaching issues and do what happened to Eddie Jones in Oz....And as for the crowd problem..sorry Brett Lee & rest of the team....this happens every year!!!!!you don't see these problems in Pakistan, do you??? It's probably about time we got responsible about drinking here.

I agree

Bracewell has to go.

I was there yesterday too and while the result was a dissapointment the crowd was shocking. I think about 6 people invaded the field, there were a heap of arrests and i saw one guy with an aussie flag being bottled as he walked through the terraces, not by a few people but it seemed like half the corwd. I can understand the abuse of Lee considering what happened the last time he was in auckland, but it went on a bit far.

Cairns performance was very good considering the pressure he was under to perform, top order a dissapointment again, Hamish Marshall has to be dropped, Vettori's captaincy looked pretty solid, dunno what the media have said of it today.

O well, can't say i'm looking forward to Wednesday but at least the Aussies in my fantasy team did well.
