Ends up Australia all out for 228 from 49.5 overs. I think thats a good total considering they were 6-70... I only hope South Africa can chase it down

228 is a decent score this pitch. After having the Australians 6-71, this certainly reflects poor bowling by the South Africans.
It is not going to be easy chasing 228 against Lee and McGrath. I would still go for the Australians to comfortably win the match.

South Africa only needed 5 runs from that last 10 balls when the rain came.

SA will win if they don't come back on. I know the Aussies won't win but I like to see a match finished properly.

I hope it doesn't end like this.

Pollock bowled very well for figures of 3/30. This being recognised in him recieving MOM. I think the Aussies went at the game too hard, a lot of wickets were given away rather than worked for. It took another marvellous batting performance from Hussey to get them out of trouble. SA's Boucher and Kemp batted very well, steadying the ship and giving SA a deserved victory.

According to the Duckworth-Lewis system, at 6-71 after 18 overs the expected target for Australia was 111 after 50 overs. Australia went on to make 228. What does that say about the accuracy of the D-L method? The target seems to assume the next 4 wickets will fall at 10 runs apiece at a run-rate of less than two an over. In reality, the run-rate after 18 overs was 3.94 and the run-rate in the remaining overs was 4.90! Luckily, Hussey and Lee took no notice of what Duckworth-Lewis thought the probable target should be.

D/L looks at how many wickets are remaining rather than who the batsmen are. Lee could have skyed his first ball and the tail could have followed in pretty much the same way. Which would make the D/L look pretty accurate. However I do agree that it was way out and maybe this should be looked into, ie. whether it is batsmen/bowlers at the crease and to come in the batting order but apart from that I don't see what could be done.

Great win for South Africa!!! What a game though... Well done to Boucher and Dippenaar from south africa, setting up the victory. When Hussey took that brilliant catch, i thought it was all over, and the aussies would lift, but south africa hung in there, Well Done!

South Africa v Sri Lanka

I think the total that Sri Lanka have put up will be competitive. 282 is good for south africa though, because near the start it looked as though Sri Lanka would score more than 300. I thought Sangakkara played excellently for his 88.

I think the pick of the bowlers was Botha with figures of 2-49 from his 10
