Sri Lanka won the game after two steady knocks for Atapattu and ofcourse Sangakarra. Link here http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/.../scorecard.stm

If it wasn't for Bandara Sri Lanka's batsmen would have thrown that game away, no urgency whatsoever, aside from Jayasuria and Dilshan. Well done Sri Lanka on the win, however.

Sri Lanka have sprung a surprise by qualifying for the VB Series finals where they will meet the Aussies. This result shows the unpredictability associated with ODIs. At last, Sri Lanka have a match-winner other than Murali, in the spin department.

I think SA will have been on a team low after losing to the Aussies twice in a row. Grame Smith made a good score which is surprising as he's been out of form. Maybe if SA had got to the finals we could have seen some fireworks? I think SA's batting failed to get off the ground and the wickets tumbled consitently.

As a South African I'm quite glad that they did not make the final ! This gives South Africa time to get some of there best player's that are injured time to heal and be playing again ( IE Kallis , Nel and Nitini ) for the series in SA against Aus .

Its going to be a very very different game back in South Africa provided Kallis ,Nel and Nitini play.

I quite agree, I think it's a surprise somewhat that SA have done as well as they have without Nitni, Kallis, Nel, also Pollock has been carrying a niggle. Although once SA lose their top players I think it shows that SA do not strength in depth once the front-line players are gone.

all it comes down to is South Africa does not have the same backup players as Aus ( nor does any other team in the world for that matter ) we will try and rebuild again with our top guys back. All it takes for SA is a wicket or two or a extra 50/100 at the right time, and they have a good team let's see what happens in SA provided we have a full team !

#ps AB is playing like a god back here 94* off 59 in a 20/20 match !

things mite be a bit different back in SA !

Why was AB De Villiers not playing in the VB series? Also, South Africa had a very good bowler Roger Telemachus. They could have recalled him instead of picking new bowlers like Garnett Kruger and Dale Steyn.

Roger is way past his best now , he has been palying alot of local one day cricket but his not up to ODI's anymore, not even close !!!

As for AB not playing I cant think of any reason except the quota system that's in place now. AB right now has been the best 20/20 batter in South Africa in the local 20/20 games by a long shot.

VB Series Final # 2!

Can hardly believe this! Murali's figures read 10-0-99-0! He was humiliated today by Ponting-Symonds-Clarke! I dont think even the Indians could dream about dominating him like this! AUS went from 10/3 to 368/5. So its 1-all now. Dunno what Murali will try in the next game?!
