Saw each and every ball! Was hoping SRL make good use of the 10/3 situation but no! Ponting-Symonds butchered Murali, the most unlikely candidate for such treatment! He's never going to forget this game. People talk about who will win WC2007! AUS may lose a game occasionally, they might have lost the invincible aura about them, but unfortunately, they are still good enough to remain world champs.

Simply amazing! Although the pitch is probably as good for batting as the ones in Pakistan, Ponting and Symonds have shown why Aussies are the champions. Also the innings conclusively answered the debate as to who the best batsman is in contemporary cricket. Ponting is miles ahead of anyone else. Over the past 2-3 years the runs that have flowed from his bat are just phenomenol. His average runs per innings (in tests) in the last 3-4 years or so has been in excess of 65 and he deserves it. At this rate I reckon Ponting will easily break the world records for most runs (both in tests and ODIs) and most centuries (Both in tests and ODIs).

| An utterly amazing partnership between Symonds and Ponting. After losing three wickets so early on they must have been under immense pressure. This shows just how good the Aussie batting lineup is and their strength in depth. Michael Clarke also had a nice cameo which gave momentum to the bowling...54 off 28 balls. Not bad for a test reject. (well, for now anyway)

It is very clear that the Aussies are back in business and the 3rd final is but a mere formality.

in my oppinion symonds is the cleanest and hardest hitter of a ball in world cricket today. There is no doubt that he hits the ball harder than anyone in the world, i cant even think of anyone even close to his hitting power.

he was hitting it alot harder than any of those batsman im not talking about sixes im talking about fours along the ground. the fields man out in the deep only had enough time to move a couple of steps and the ball had already hit the rope. Flintoff and Gilchrist are some of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball but not like what Symonds was doing last night and what he was doin to Murali was unseen before.

They've all done it before though. All big hitters have their day.
