I think this would be an absolutely wonderful event to follow - but the travel which would be involved in following the successful teams is a bit daunting. I think in the end it will be a big marketing challenge for the WICB and ICC, and it would not surprise me if many of the crowds are predominantly local. I did hear somewhere about a fantastic tour opportunity which one of the cruise lines was touting (for anyone with a very large amount of cash on hand, which is not me): basically, it's a cricket cruise. Pick your ship according to the team you are following, and they will get you to the appropriate island in time for the match, you have your post match bevy on board as you sail off to wherever your team is playing next. Can't remember which line was offering this, but I do remember five figures sterling, which is where I lost interest!

I had the pleasure of actully performing with my school and with others in the 99 World Cup in England at the Oval for a build-up game. Was an amazing experince I would highly recommend that if anyone can get to it they should. Its really amazing seeing the WC!

Planning, no, hoping yes, that I could go during my school holidays as I believe this tournament runs through that period. I know my dad and uncle are concrete, and they booked their tickets long ago. I'm hoping to go for two weeks of the tournament, but with such an important year of school, I don't know. I'm 50-50 at this stage.
