I believe the entire channel 9 commentary team needs to be replaced. We are bored and tired of listening to the same voice(s) since 1979-80. Taylor and Healy are very biased and should not be allowed to commentate, in my opinion.

Benaud may have very good knowledge about the game (and who would not after 40 plus years in the field) but it is time for him to retire now. He is arrogant and gives the impression that only he knows the finer aspects of the game.

There are plenty of experienced and equally knowledgebale past cricketers who can deliver the goods, if given the opportunity.

Bull**** man, sure Healy is biased but Mark Taylor is an excellent commentator and shows very little bias (for an Aussie)

Im glad to see many also believe Ian Chappell is an awful commentator - he is the worst i have ever heard. He is biased and always finds the negative points and highlights them..... he just brings further disgrace to the already disgraced Chappell name

ANYWAY... i voted for "OTHER" as my favourite commentators are: Ian Smith (doubt many of you have heard him but he is truely brilliant - should be taken where ever NZ tour), Mark Taylor, Michael Slater, Barry Richards and the ever entertaining Navjot Sidhu

Ian Smith is a decent commentator. We had him over in the UK commentating when the Kiwis were last touring. We also have Jeremy Coney on the radio sometimes. I had an interesting debate with one of the staff at the New Zealand Cricket Museum up at the Basin Reserve yesterday over why Ian Smith had been selected over Adam Parore as NZ's best ever keeper. Basically, Cairns caught Parore rifling through someone's kit bag and as a result isn't too popular in NZ

My Favorites are Ian Healy, Michael Slater, Darren Lehmann and Tony Greig.

Lehmann really surprised me during the Ashes. I didn't think he'd be any good at all.

Healy likes to joke around which I like and Slater just does the job so well.

Greigy is brilliant as well. He can be serious and likes a good joke as well. Especially when his partner is Bill Lawry.

In my opinion the ultimate commentary panel would consist of

1) Tony Greig
2) David Lloyd
3) Barry Richards
4) Dean Johns
5) Navjot Sidhu
6) and some enthusiastic SA guy I just can't remeber the name of

And the people i do not wish to see include

1) Ranjit Fernando
2) Arun Lal
3) Richie Benaud
4) Ian Chappel

BTW what had happened to Sidhu? haven't heard him after 2001
