| From those on the list, I'd have to say Sanjay Manjrekar is the only one who stands out; he is in fact a very good, balanced and insightful commentator, on his days as good as Atherton or CMJ. All of the others on the list have some major deficiencies: Waqar's knowledge of English and of up and coming overseas players is very weak; Benaud is biased, and has a very blinkered, Anglo/Aus-centric view of the world; David Lloyd is good for a laugh and the comedy value, but is not exactly a 'commentator' or expert, whilst Ramiz, though professional enough, is hardly ever insightful.

| I'd agree that Manjrekar is the quality commentator out of that bunch, Benaud has plenty of insight but he is stuffy beyond words these days. I like David Lloyd for his sheer joy of the game. Rameez Raja is the most annoying. His views seem to fluctuate according to whoever is sitting alongside him, and someone needs to explain to him that the word 'neat' can't be applied to every situation. We even had a 'neat six' today which certainly makes the mind boggle. |

| Richie Benaud, he knows a great deal about cricket and it is also great to listen to him commentate, the way he does it and some of things he says. Eg. when a wicket falls he simplys says something like, "Well you could say the Australians are in a great deal of trouble now."

| I thought Boycott was awesome. Among the guys in the list, Benaud is my choice, even though he hasn't been the same for the last 3 years. Sounds rather more biased now. |

| I'm absolutely amazed to see two suggestions of bias here with regard to Richie Benaud. Admittedly I haven't heard him for a few years, but he's always been the number one guy on the box for me, ever since I started watching cricket in the mid 1970s. Of those on the list, he gets my vote. But I'm generally happier with the radio team on the BBC: Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Jonathan Agnew and - yes, sorry, Ern: Henry Blofeld - can bring a sunny day into my living room even when the gloomiest, rainiest day is happening outside the window.
