Where should Adam Gilchrist bat in ODI's?

Personally im throwing up between Opening and No. 7.

If Gilchrist is opening and in good form he can get Australia off to a flyer, but if he was batting down the order he can smash the ball in the later overs with players like Symonds, Hussey or Clarke most likely batting with him.

Would be a complete waste to play him as a lower order hitter, he is much more than that.

If he plays, he opens for me.

I think he needs his form back before he opens again, maybe the selectors should threaten him to be demoted to no.7 and see if he works on his batting a bit more, then put him in opening and see what happens.

I'm strongly convinced now that Gilly's time in ODIs has gone, and he would be far better served concentrating entirely on test cricket.

He should open with Jacques. I also think Hayden deserves an opportunity now, to press for world cup selection, therefore, Katich gets the punt. Down the order I would like a long batting lineup 5)Symonds 6)Hussey 7)Clarke, but no Gilly. He MUST open

He looked good today. Got a start but didn't go on with it.

If you noticed he was playing more defensive shots than he usually does, attempting to build his innings.

He should deffinatley still open. Australia are the best ODi team in the world why change it. He is also getting back on form and hit a couple of centuries recently.
