You gave them credit. I gave them credit. It was an excellent performance and I agree with that. However I'm just saying that Bangladesh don't do this consitently compared to other sides and I don't think they will for some time yet. They need a good run of form and also they have a strong set of players coming through the ranks. They could challenge in the future.

They will, and I believe that will happen sooner rather than later. Mortaza is 22, Aftab is 20, Ashraful is 21/22 (I think), Shariyar is also in his low twenties. I think these guys will form the core of a Bengali upsurge in the next three or four years.

Put it this way.I think everyone would agree that Bangladesh have more chance of improving in the next 2-3 years than Zimbabwe.

I actually think Bangladesh can aim higher and look to get to the level of West Indies in the near future.Bangladesh have got quite a few talented youngsters who could improve into decent players given experience.

Final ODI

Sri Lanka beat the minnows by 78 runs in the series decider. A solid century from Kumar Sangakkara allowed the batsmen at the other end to smash the ball to all parts with quick fifties from Jayawardene and Lokuarachchi. In the reply Bangladesh never really strung any major partnerships together and the only resistance came from Mohammad Ashraful with 64 runs.
