I couldnt see the match, but saw the winning run and the excitement thereafter. Bangladesh wins some big matches at times. Its a Cricketloving country and I cant really understand why they are taking so much time in improving their cricket. I hope this win marks the beginning of a new era for them.

Did others say the same when they beat Australia least year? I think Bangladesh can do well in ODI's but they won't win lots of games consitently. The fact is they don't have a great squad of players to consitently win games. Still congratulations to them, good victory against a bouncing back SL.

I disagree, they are improving all the time and now boast a couple of significant victories in their last few ODIs. I was impressed with their approach in the Natwest series, and am a big fan of Ashraful as well as Mortaza, Omar and Rafique, as well as Bashar's captaincy. I wouldn't bet against them winning another game in this series.

Well we will have to see. Don't forget SL are putting out a weaker side than they could do at the moment. Certainly in the bowling department.

I'm not so sure it's a weakened side, yes Murali missed the game to be with his wife and Vaas was rested, but otherwise it's the same group of players who played in the VB series. They still played Mubarak (2), Jayawardene (5), Dilshan (3) and Sangakkara (23) who all failed with the bat to differing degrees. Only Jayasuria stood out in the batting. Perera (excellent VB series), Bandara (excellent VB series), Fernando, Maharoof and Jayasuria all bowled.

That's true but Vaas and Murali IMO are Sri Lanka's two most valuable bowlers within the side. I will give you that the bowlers have performed well to keep SL down to a low score. Bangladesh do have a home advantage although we won't go into that. However the batsmen IMO have failed to capitalise on the loss of SL's two main bowlers.

They won, I'd call that captialising - and if we're analysing stats Murali just recorded the worst ODI bowling figures ever. Of course he's great and so is Vaas, but the SL side was still a strong one. Anyway, I believe they are due credit for an excellent performance.
