INDIA vs ENGLAND - 3rd ODI

The third One Day Internationals begins tomorrow.England should win this match or else it would be very difficult to win the other four matches.

India go into this matche with a 2-0 advantage in the seven match series.

Ever the optimist, I've gone for an England win, but we'll have to learn to bat to do so.

If England sort the batting out I'd go for an English victory. I think all will be dependant on KP making the runs though.

The bowling lost England the second game. For Anderson and Ali to go for 6 runs an over on that pitch was terrible. If KP or Fred dont score heavily it normally looks bleak in any circumstances but with the side we've got out there now it looks almost impossible. I'd drop Prior, Shah, Plunkett and Ali for Solanki, Bell Hoggard and Mahmood. And maybe bring a second spinner in if needed.

India v England, 3rd ODI, Goa

Yuvraj hundred powers India to 294

This is the first thing i read when i opened cricinfo today... after the fall of early wickets on a really horrible pitch, keeping low and darting dravid once again put his head down and dug himself a trench. After he was out for an invaluable 46 runs Yuvraj singh carried on the flag... he made an amazing 103 runs in 76 balls and was abely partnered by none other than the new phenom Raina who made 61 off his own.. In the end India have finished with a total of 294/6. I do not think england has the ability to chase this total on this ground where the avg score is 196 in the condition they are in because of injuries to some key players. However anything can happen, i just think this might be a curtain call for england.

Oh this just infuriates me - why can't we get going in these one dayers?

We pick a phalanx of seamers who aren't match fit / mentally strong enough to do the job. We bat terribly, we pick 2 keepers in the XI, we only pick one spinner for each game.

For my money, so far in this series, Kabir Ali, Plunko and Saj Mahmood look short of international class at the moment, and are damn expensive. Something is wrong if you pick Mahmood and he's f***ed after 6 overs. Those 6 overs were pretty expensive as well. To bring him back when he can barely run all the way up to the wicket is ridiculous. To not bowl 10 overs from Anderson and Flintoff is stupid, and taking Mahmood's bowling into consideration, those 2 overs probably make up a difference of 25 to the total. None of these 3 'English' medium pacers are clever enough to bowl tightly in the subcontinent yet.

I think Freddie had a poor innings as captain, and the boys found it too hot to field well, but I think the problems start with selection, and have for the whole series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the XI right Dunc & Matthew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Take a deep breath TTFC)

Can't argue with anything you have said TTFC. England have messed up on selection and not for the first time.

Two Wicket keepers.
Where's Matthew Hoggard?
Sajid Mahmood only bowls eight overs for 66!

Clearly there are issues here which need solving, if this is decent preperation for the World Cup I'll eat my hat.

An excellent knock from Yuvraj, one of those sixes he hit was huge!

Just saw the scorecard and he's not there.

He's either injured or had a dodgy curry last night.

Oh well, 43-2...Looks like another break down of the batting order. Pathan has both so far.
