Gul bowled 8 overs. May be he was not allowed to complete his quota because he was expensive at 4.5. If thats the case, I cant understand why gul was asked to bowl the last over in which he gave away 15 runs.

Hafeez bowled 8 overs at 2.88 runs an over.....why didnt he complete his 10 overs?

Excellent innings there from Boucher and Kemp, they really held it together well and would have looked to finish the innings off. As it was Nel played a tremendous final over after Kemp went, nailing an exquisite square cut to take SA over 210 off the final ball. Poor effort from Pakistan, they relaxed and let it slip, and Gul really should have been back on earlier as he was their main penetrative strike bowler.

We shall see how Pakistan fare. I think Ntini and Pollock will be rubbing their hands and make good use of the pitch and the conditions and it will be very tough. If Pakistan weather that storm and hold Afridi back until about number 6-8, he and Razzaq could make the final overs very, very interesting!

Umar Gul was carted by comparison with Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Hafeez. Which makes me rather curious about this comment:

Razzaq bowled a decent line and length, but lacked pentration for me. He was evidently trying to avoid being carted in the same fashion as he did against New Zealand, but I think he lost imagination and the edge that he has used to take wickets. It may be the case that he can either be economical and unthreatening or take wickets but go at 6/6.5 per over. He let Boucher and Kemp roll along until Boucher was dismissed.

2/9 after 4 O. didn't surprise me as I was pretty much expecting something on same lines. Not being a pessimist, only knowing the situation and Pakistan's opening credibility on bouncy or as a matter of fact any track.

4/21.I’d say xerox copy of Saffer’s start. Right move to send Kamran Akmal in, he has done it in past from a scoreline of 6/39 on a similar sort of Pitch in Karachi. He’s all capable of emulating what Boucher did for his country.

C’mon Pakistan, you can still do it.

That was a very bad and irresponsible shot from Farhat. Repeating the same mistake is criminal.

Yusuf nicked one that fell short of the slip fielder......pollock didnt like that and made sure that the next one disturbed the bells. 17/3. Tough conditions, great bowling and somewhat not so great batting.

And Yunis Khan is now gone to what can only be described as a nothing shot. He drove Ntini beautifuly for a four and then tried to pull him for another one. He basically did exactly what Ntini wanted. Very irresponsible....one expects more sensible cricket from a captain.

Akmal gone. Ntini took five wickets inside five over.....is it a record?

Afridi is in. It will be interesting to see if he hits a few.
