IT'S OVER..... SAFFERS WIN BY 124 RUNS... Pakistan packing and Indians left with a difficullt game against Australians a day latter on this very ground.

Not all went wrong for Arafat. Atleast he let us surpass 71.... anyways, it's sad but not really unpredictable. Any team w/o it's 3 top match winners would struggle in those crunch moments which are decisive for the outcome of the game. Anyways, a more important Home series against Windies is coming up. All focus on it now...

Looks like SF are top qualifiers and kiwis second in this group. Which means probably be NZ v WI in one semi and SF v either Aus or India in the other i think.

What a game. This will be a great victory for SA. My only concern is the SA top order.

Dont you guys think that it is great to have a tornament which favours the bowling for a change. We are so used to seeing flat tracks on which the bowlers are murdered. I think this tournament has been great so far. Even low scoring games can be exciting. We are getting a chance to see the bowlers skills.

So we have a semi-finals lineup as follows:

New Zealand vs India/Australia

and

West Indies vs South Africa

It's looking pretty wide open as to who will win now, and only the Windies have a 100% record! Can they do it again?!

EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure how the run rate is affected by this game, I could well be wrong on the NZ/SA arrangement.

Not only that but the new format means there are far less dead rubbers and meaningless results.

They said on TV that SA were top of the group. I guess if England beat WI then the windies could be 2nd in the group still.

Full credit to south Africa in this game however, their top order is questionable. Pakistan I feel, did not play bad cricket in terms of batting, they just do not know how to bat when given this type of pitch, fast and bouncy with swing and seam. This is why they lose in Australia, England and South Africa. PAkistan will always lose in these places or whenever a pitch of this sort is given to them because they dont know how to play like this. The PCB need to seriously do something. they need to spend money on making these type of wickets in pakistan's domestic competetions so youngsters can play on these surfaces and adapt to them. Pakistan will not always be given a slow flat track to play on with no assistance to fast bowlers. And untill they learn to play on these surfaces, they will never be considered to be a big threat.

Yes, that's right. For me this one is best among 5 such tournaments. This is where real test of character comes, not in a one where team scores 300+ and still ends up losing. In spite of Pakistan's exclusion my interest is still high in the tournament and would be eargerly waiting for further games to commence.

If West Indies beats England, they'd be playing against NZ, which IMO, would be a game with both having balanced odds. On the other hand Australia are popular fav. to overhaul India and meet Saffers in the SEMI's..

Sadly, no SC team made it to FINAL FOUR...

Not yet. Aussies are likely to win....but there is a slim possibility of India winning. India is the only team left from the sub continent with some practical chance of making it into the semis.
