1s Semi Final Nz vs Aus

The first semi final is being played out... at mohali on the same pitch which saw pak crumble although with a little grass clipping it seems balanced now between bat and ball. Nz won the toss and put Aus in to at.. Mills bowled very well to take 3/26 off 8 overs in the start and Aus are fighting back now.. first through ponting and martin and now through symonds and hussey.. 161/4 in 35.2 overs should post a good total and make it tough for NZ to chase.. yr comments?

Hi Mr Hutt

I cant believe that no one is posting on this thread. There is an important game (CT semi Final) going on and no one is interested. Oh I forgot England are'nt playing

Anyway, I think that NZ did not do well enough with the new ball. They needed at least 1 or 2 more wickets. Australia will post a competitive score between 240 and 260. This will be too high for Fleming, I mean NZ.

I've been watching it all morning. Great knock by Ponting, coming in at a very difficult time. Bucknor really seems to favour the Aussies every time I watch him. He missed a plumb LB against Hussey off Franklin at a very important time.

Symonds' innings has won it for Australia I would say now. Anything close to 240 will be enough.

223-8, Bond bowls Lee with an excellent slower ball, the Aussies are collapsing. Bond is doing the business against the lower order after Mills' work on the top order. I'd back NZ to chase down 230-240.

Hard fought in the end by NZ still Aus manage 240 not a bad score at all on this pitch. Mcgrath is bowling really well at the moment so is Lee i dont think NZ can get this. I agree Gibbs our forum has been a lil down on the posting in the recent week or so. Should pick up soon though the Urn is in sight

It's really amazing that New Zealand don't have any batsmen other than Fleming! What a dire performance and what excellent bowling by the Australians.

Australia are firm favourites to win the CT now, they'll be too good for the Windies a second time round.
