This is looking like a replay of the Malaysian comp last month. Aussies knock India out of the competition the flog the Windies in the final.

Windies did bat irresponsibly at times, but the Aussie bowling was very good as well. The ball McGrath bowled to get Lara was superb - slightly swinging away, hit the seam bringing it back into the Lara for the edge. Bracken - beautiful change of pace to get Sarwan and a perfect outswinger to knock over Gayle's off stump.

Game not over yet though. The ball is swinging all over the place and seaming off the wicket. I hope the Windies (the only team i don't mind beating Australia) play really well and take it up to the Aussies.

I'd blame second rate shot selection myself: only Gayle and Lara appear to have had their wickets taken... with the rest basically gifted. This is the only really acceptable bit of the innings:
Code:
9.4	Bracken to Gayle, OUT, what a ball! Full and fast, moves in and Gayle goes defending, ball beats him for pace and knocks back off stump, the ball swung just enought to beat the outside of the bat, and Bracken has done all the damage this afternoon

14.5	McGrath to Lara, OUT, excellent catch! Amazing! Full and moving away outside off stump, Lara comes well forward and defends, but that little bit of deviation was enough to draw the edge and Gilchrist behind the stumps dived to his left and holds onto a fine one-handed catch, that ball was dipping, bye bye Lara
Here's the rest...

Code:
5.1	Bracken to Chanderpaul, OUT, gone! Chanderpaul stood leaden-footed and went for the cut.

7.3	Bracken to Sarwan, OUT, gone! Change of pace [...] a tame dismissal, as he closed the face of the bat on the attempted whip.

18.2	McGrath to Morton, OUT, gone! Hits the deck on a great length - typical McGrath - and Morton stands and chases it, a regulation thick edge into Gilchrist's gloves.

22.4	Watson to Samuels, OUT, gone! Pitched up full on the pads, he goes for the flick, smashed off the middle of the bat but he can only pick out Ponting at mid-on, Samuels continues to disappoint

24.6	Watson to Baugh, OUT, gone! Quick and bang on the stumps, Baugh shuffles once too much and tries to play across the line.

25.1	Hogg to Bravo, OUT [...] Bravo is foxed by a ball coming in and he shoulders arms.

28.6	Lee to Bradshaw, OUT, Splat....[...] 139.2kmph yorker-length delivery, came in with the angle, Bradshaw tried to ping the gap in the cover

30.4	Lee to Collymore, OUT, And the West Indian innings ends in confusion. A run out.

Since the lunch break the rain has been falling non-stop which has prevented play continuing.

If play isn't resumed today (only 10 overs of batting from Australia will constitute a match) then we always have tomorrow to finish off the match.

Rain at this time of the year is uncommon in Bombay. I hope the game resumes....

If the match doesnt resume today, will there be a rematch or they will just finish the rest of the game tomorrow?

I believe the match will just be finished off (resuming from where it was stopped) because if one side was dominating (like Australia thus far) they may feel a little hard done by for having the opportunity to finish a game where they were in a dominant position.

What if it gets washed out tonight Many of you have pinged us with that question. The game will continue tomorrow. Not re-start but continue from where it ended. Australia have comprehensively beaten the West Indies to Lift the trophy for the first time ever. Aussies have silenced all their critics with this perfomance.

This is just the sign of things to come in the Ashes......
