Anybody on this board going to the World Cup in the West Indies?

I'm tempted to beg some people to go with me then go..

I'd love to kick back sucking some rum and coca cola, but I've got to work.

I'm planning to be in Barbados during the Super Eight, but don't know yet if I'll be going to the match at Kensington Oval. I hope the Windies are playing there then....

I am desparately waiting for the time when I will retire from work. I will follow cricket matches all round the world then. But it will take another 35 years or so

I'm not going again. I couldn't get tickets within the school hols that made it worthwhile. The dates I wanted are sold out!

Some one in my family was offering me a couple of tickets too, but I declined because I thought it a way too expensive a gift. Besides, I'm a firm believer that on events like a world cup organisers believer in ripping customers off, so I try and stay well away from buying absolute anything in connection with any high profile events (okay, so may be not this strictly, but I do definitely try to resist the temptation, buying a replica kit as a bit of memorabilia, doesn't really count). I expect at least four to five channels will be giving extensive coverage on the telly, from where I'd much rather prefer seeing the action from. And in any case, the next World Cup is going to be happening locally, so if I get desperate to go watch, I'll go do it then.

Our tentative plan looks something like this...

About 25 families, booking a small charter plane from St Louis Missouri to Negril where a small resort is fully booked just for us. The ladies and kids can enjoy the beach, shopping, and cooking etc while the guys and interested females will go to the stadium to watch the games. It will be a 7 day tour and costs around $1500.00 per family. All of the participating families are either Pakistani or Indian origin and we feel its gonna be one helluva fun. Lets hope this dream trip comes true as we are crossing the hurdles of making it happen.
