In ODI cricket you need batsmen who can bat with the tail. You cannot hope your tailenders will hit 3 of 70 because the run rate is important as ever in modern ODI cricket. The main player that I can think of is Micheal Beven. He could not only bat with the tail. But could improve how the tail batted. Anyone remember Beven with Bichel in the 2003 world cup V England? Is there anyone who can do that in this era. It is a very important pajrt of a ODI squad. What teams have one and what teams need one?
Australia have Hussey who is upcoming and is batting with a Beven-esce presence. The way he batted against England was a scary impression of Beven who England know too much about.
Post here with your thoughts on which players take up this role in various International teams and even County games.
