I myself would not take him on a tour of Australia .

| Ern, your figures for Stauss in ODI'd aren't bad in my book - nearly 35 and two tons, plus 13 50's. I think he's a good player in a bad trot. In fact he was Englands best batsmen pretty much from when he came into the team in tests, and has been better than most in ODI's. Thre may be a few short memories flying about here.

Also we have to look at Bell, he has now had two bad series against Australia, yet plays well against Pakistan India and teams like that. I don't doubt Strauss has been good, but in all honesty both he and Cook have not given the lower order batsmen a chance not putting decent opening partnerships together, I hope he regains his form in time for the World Cup - but he has took a battering, all the England side have.
