Commonwealth Bank Series 7th Match: England v Australia at Adelaide, Jan 26, 2007

There is one thing that I am hopeing in this match and that is that Australia can bat first. If Enlgand bat first again and do nothing with the bat and leave Australia 150 runs or less to chase I will crack the s**ts.

England showed that they are capable of beating Australia in the last game, so im looking forward to seeing England answer to there last match against England were they were hopeless.

Sorry Quagmire I hope we bat first. We can't be having to chase 350 under lights.
Well it wouldn't really be under lights as we would be all out before it got dark.

Has England has chased against Australia in this series yet? If they havent I thinkt that could be good for them. If they can roll Austrlian for 200 they should back themselves to chase it down. We have seen that they are capable of bowling Australia out in 50 overs.

How can England possibly roll Australia for 200. Perhaps if Australia play 11 bowlers, yes but I would even back 11 Aussie bowlers to beat the crap out of this England side. Unfortunately, for England like SA its just a waiting game. Both have absolutely no chance of winning the WC but changes to management, captains, etc will only be made after their disastrous WC campains.

I reckon any of the top eight teams have a good chance of winning the world cup. ODI's often boil down to two or three playes firing on the day. All of the top eight teams have at least 3 special match winners, so it comes down to luck really.
While the Aussies are the best team at the moment, i don't reckon they will win this WC, mainly because they are due for some bad luck after winning the last two. I remember the Aussies (who were fairly crap and were rated as "no chance" as well) coming from nowhere in 1987 to win. . As i said, all the top eight teams have an equal chance of winning the World cup IMO

So do I, unfortunately. I remember getting up at about 4.30 to watch the game and feeling very confident once England had been set an achievable target. England had chased down good totals against sub-continental opposition and should have done the same against the Aussies.

World Cups are won by the side that really hits it's straps towards the end of the tournament. If the Aussies get an injury or two and a little bad luck on the field then they could lose a match or two. All that needs to happen is for another side to get some good fortune and the World Cup will have a new home. Should KP hit the same vein of form he had in South Africa then it could be England. It could equally be South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, New Zealand or the Windies.

I'd still put money on it being the Aussies, though!

Some doubt about Anderson and Lewis playing due to injuries.

If these two players are missing then England have 3 candidates , Mahmood - Tremlett and Plunkett.

So Tremelett is certain to play I reckon, so that would leave Mahmood and Plunkett.

So who would get the nod - well they both have nearly identical records.

Both with econ's of six, Mahmood with an average of 43, and Plunkett with 45, I think 16 wickets each - what should swing it for Mahmood is that Plunkett has played no cricket.

CB Series- Aus vs England - 7th Match

I reckon England can't get any lower than where they are at the moment. As one of the commentators said this morning: "they can only go one way from here."...

Batting first on what looked like a belter of a track, they were all out for 110, inside 35 overs.

Australia already 41/1..after 9 overs.

And Collingwood drops one as well. England really are pathetic

I reckon me and 10 lumps of clay could have batted better than England today.

I think I'll change my allegiance, jump ship and become a Kiwi (as soon as Bracewell resigns anyway!)
