Difficulties travelling around the Caribbean?

There shouldn't be any problems travelling to the destination where your team is playing in the group stages, i.e. West Indies (Jamaica), England (St Lucia), India (Trinidad).

However, the difficulties may arise in the Super Eight phase.

traditionally, most flights out of the Caribbean go to the US and Canada, not to each other. It's going to be interesting to see how the authorities cope with the increased traffic.

Thats where I have an advantage - I am located in Florida - so I will be flying in and out. But the extra cost of being an Aussie is ****ing me off, especially when I will be flying with an American doing the exact same thing as me.

Is that because you need a visa? It does seem ridiculous, since you're based in Florida!

A-Y will have to answer that one, but at least, if it is a visa issue, he'll only need one, I think. I believe I read somewhere that the host nations have agreed to put a single visa zone into operation for the duration of the competition.

Yes, its to do with the visa requirements they have brought in soley for the world cup - it did not exist prior to then.

It has not effected anyone from USA or England. And as I am an Australian passport holder with only a working visa then it gets me - even though I am living here.

Seems like its gonna be a pretty ordinary administered world cup. Opening ceremony tickets were never put on sale and they are already sold out while the venue itself is struggling hard to be completed in time. Hotels in Kingston, Jamaica are already all sold out and at this time you can not get a room for $300.00 per night even in a dirty motel.

Prior to the world cup you needed to have a vistors visa but it cost you nothing - now you have to pay to get the same thing - thats the annoying thing.
