No big surprises in the squad really. Dave Mohammed had half a shout if the pitches were going to turn a bit; I would certainly have 10 overs of good accuracy (and potentially wickets) as opposed to hot and cold Daren Powell.

No, but come the actual event, many who don't follow so closely may reflect that Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons seem to have emerged from no-where... and others might be taken aback to find Runako Morton in the reserves.

IF you saw the Stanford 20/20 you would have seen Pollard.

Simmons gets in as cover for Ramdin if we need a keeper.

The Prophet (Mohammed), Granny (Morton) and Sammy can count themselves unlucky.

Morton especially, he was particularly impressive with his match winning 90 odd against Australia in the champions trophy. On home soil he could have been very dangerous.

Bad time to lose form for Runako

At least Morton could be used as a reserve fielder! Because Bradshaw's fielding is so poor, he could open the bowling and bowl ten overs straight, and then limp off with an injury, to be replaced by Morton

It's good to see the selectors taking a chance on Pollard. I'm not sure that Devon Smith is such a good move, and dwayne Smith has been hot and cold in recent times. I would've liked to see Dave Mohammed in the squad, too....

Do you know, I was thinking a similar thing with New Zealand. They're taking Daryl Tuffey who is very unlikely to get a game (hopefully). Now, Bracewell is a big fan of Hamish Marshall who (although I think his batting is far from international class) is a pretty damn good fielder. Now, Jimmy Franklin can't catch a cold at the moment - once his 10 over stint (more likely to be 6 overs!) is over, oh look he's strained his ankle/knee/shoulder - on comes Hamish Marshall. It makes a lot more sense than picking Tuffey as a drinks machine.

Runako could have provided similar services for Bradshaw, couldn't he. Actually, I've seen a lot of Morton on various West Indies tours and he's always struck me as a good player and one that I like to see do well. I'm disappointed in his recent form, though I would say his style seems to suit test cricket more than ODIs.

Morton has struggled against spin, and the opposition teams have cottoned on to that. As soon as he comes to the wicket, the spinner comes on! He needs to go away and work on it, the way Yuvraj has come back a much better player of spin now.
