All daylight games?

Unless I am mistaken, all the games in this Caribbean World Cup are daylight matches. If so, I am happy because the results will be more realistic. Day-Night matches might be good for revenue, but the results can often be 'manufactured' depending on local conditions. In the last World Cup in South Africa, we all saw how the team batting second in a D/N match struggled because of increased movement of the ball; in India, the opposite often occurs, dew making bowling under the lights very difficult. I hope that all such factors are irrelevant in this 2007 tournament.

You're correct - all daylight games. This is good for England in particular, as it means the games start in the mid afternoon and give us all a chance to follow them in the evenings, European time. I am just hoping someone will be streaming radio commentaries on the web. As usual, it is impossible to get advance information about that, it seems. Possibly TMS will have the England games, and sometimes the Caribbean stations stream cricket (I found it once before from Barbados). If anyone gets advance information on this, I'd be glad to hear it.

Its good news for me down in New Zealand cos the games start at roughly 2am over here... thats much more reasonable than 4am !!

But still its gonna be an effort...

It's good for us as well.It starts at 7:00 p.m. but it certainly is better than a midnight start (I live in India).

Hey, C'mon! I grew up in India and we used to get up to listen to the cricket commentary on the radio (no TV back then) at any time when India played! For us there are no time contraints when it comes to cricket.

TMS on 5 Live Sports Extra are carrying commentary on every game, according to the World Cup guide in the Wisden Cricketer.

Thanks, Adam - sounds encouraging! The unfortunate thing is that often the stream is not available outside the UK when games are played outside the UK. But I'll certainly be giving it a try.

NOt many grounds have the capability to host day/night games, anyway. St Lucia has the necessary lighthing, though with the recent upgrading, some other grounds might be brought up to par in that regard.

That said, I don't think dew is that big a factor in the Caribbean, as it is in SA and parts of India.
