Who will shine?

I wonder which up and coming youngster (or old and going oldster come to that!) will put his mark on the world cup.

I think the WI pitches are for fast bowlers by and large, and they take a bit of turn too

Perhaps some 'unknown' will shock us all?

Is the world cup a bridge too far for Mcgrath? or will he be the player of the tournament?

I think there is a chance of it being a bridge too far for McGrath; rather similar to Donald the last time around.

All this talk of SA winning the world cup and players of the tournement isn't relevent to the original topic. Can we please stick to that instead of this argument about South Africa...etc

Now, who looks likely to cause the great world cup shock? As some will say, Kenya aren't to be underestimated. If they don't beat england, which may happen, they might beat New Zealand.

I agree that Kenya are not to be underestimated, but you have got the matches the wrong way around. The Kenyans play Canada first and you'd expect them to win that one. Then they play NZ before they play England; if NZ come to that clash after beating England in their first match & then beat the Kenyans, they will have 2 wins with only Canada to go. England on the other hand, after themselves (surely) beating Canada in the second match, will face the Kenyans in a match where the loser will go out of the tournament. If that scenario happens, the Kenyans will go all out to win and there is a very small chance that they might pull it off.
