| WC Group matches: 15 March 2007 Well, I can't find a thread already running so here we go: First innings scores: Ireland 221-9 against Zimbabwe in Jamaica, and very creditable at that after once being 99-5. Zimbabwe might even have a game on. Sri Lanka 321-6 against Bermuda, who are presently struggling at 24-4 in reply. Not so much of a match there in Trinidad, it seems.

| No problem, Nostromo. Bermuda are now 29-6, but at least the margin is now less than 300. So that's all right then! I guess it's inevitable with these matches, but it is sad to see the grounds so empty at a world cup. I'm sure if I were on the island, I'd be at the game.

| Bermuda all out for 78 runs, fourth lowest total (if my very poor short term memory serves me) in WC history. Lost by lots of runs and no real surprise. Zimbabwe going quite nicely against Ireland with 58-1 after 12 overs. They shouldn't have too many problems chasing 222 to win but you never know.

| Indeed they have. The two dropped catches behind at the top of the innings could have unsettled Ireland significantly, but fortunately it was third time lucky and the wicket came. Sibanda was unlucky to walk all over his stumps on 67 though, so maybe the luck has evened out. In any event, a good effort from Ireland in their first World Cup appearance and not at all a bad game to watch (I have it on the computer screen through Slingmedia).

| Cricinfo have just reminded us that Ireland came out of several tight finishes in the World Cricket League as losers; and it's looking very much as though the same will happen here. I'm not watching it OF, but from the Cricinfo commentary it sounds as though Langford-Smith has bowled pretty well, is that the case? Also, how's O'Brien's keeping been?

| Zim heading for victory. Commonsense batting eventually won thru for the 6 wicket after a few batsmen lost their heads.
